T3: Cloud Based IT Services 101
It seems everyone has their heads in the clouds. Cloud based IT services are all the rage. But what is “the cloud” and what does it mean to you and your company? Why should you consider cloud based IT and what are the pitfalls? What are the advantages and risks compared with traditional IT services?
Please join TNS as we explore all aspects of “the cloud.” First we will explore the many definitions of cloud based IT. Then we will examine the key advantages and challenges with moving IT services to the cloud. Finally, we’ll take a hard look at some real-world examples of cloud based IT services.
We will discuss the following types of cloud based IT services:
- In-The-Cloud Email Filtering and Security (Anti Spam/Virus)
- Hosted Applications such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Managed Off-Site Backup and Recovery
- Hosted Email Archiving, Continuity, and Encrypted Delivery
- Outsourced Helpdesk
- Hosted Microsoft Exchange
- Cloud Based IP Phone Systems and SIP Trunking
- Hosted Storage and Remote Replication
- Managed Co-Location Services
- Remote Network Monitoring
- Managed Log Monitoring/Alerting, and Event Correlation
As with all TNS seminars, we will not only explore how these technologies and services reduce costs and make your job easier, but also how they actually work.
