MS: Network Access Control - Bringing Security into the Network Core
Network access control enables businesses to establish and enforce policies that grant users differentiated access based on their roles. For instance, full-time employees may have unrestricted access, while partners can reach designated servers and guests have Internet access only. Devices can also be scrutinized to ensure compliance with security standards; if a laptop doesn't have the latest antivirus software, for example, the user may be directed to a quarantine VLAN and given the option to update their security software or be denied access altogether.
As the need to provide differentiated user access grows, businesses of all kinds are looking to deploy network access control solutions. Juniper Networks Unified Access Control (UAC), deployed with Juniper EX-series Ethernet switches, delivers a complete 802.1X standards based network access control environment that mitigates the cost and complexity of such a deployment while protecting the network, its resources, and sensitive data from unauthorized access, attacks and other breaches.
