MS: The Latest & Greatest in Backup/Recovery

Backing up data in virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and data de-duplication are two of the hottest data protection and disaster recovery topics today. Come join us as we learn about new methods of efficiently backing up VM’s (Virtual Machines), both at the file level and at the VM level. In addition, we will explore how the newest generation of data de-duplication technologies can greatly improve your backups and provide new levels of data protection.
Server virtualization technologies have exploded in the past few years. These game changing technologies have altered how we build and deploy servers. However, getting backups of virtual machines and the associated data can be a great challenge. New backup options such as VMware Consolidate Backup (VCB) and Symantec Backup Exec Agent for Virtual Infrastructures can make the backup process a whole lot easier and reliable.
Disk backup with data de-duplication and replication (a new enhanced alternative to simple D2D, D2D2T, VTL, disk staging) is becoming the new standard for optimized backup. Incredible backup and restore speeds, ease of scalability and management, and remote backup replication for disaster recovery or the reduction of reliance on tape are just a few of the many advantages. Now you can retain many more versions of your backups cost effectively on disk locally as well as greatly reduce the bandwidth required to replicate your backup data to a protected off site location.
Join us as we dive deep into Backup Exec Virtual Infrastructure and Exagrid disk backup with data de-duplication. This technical seminar will cover the following topics.
- Disk-based backup using data de-duplication
- 1st and 2nd generation de-duplication technologies
- Reducing your backup (and restore) window by 30-90%
- Leveraging VCB and virtual machine aware backup agents
- Virtual machine level backups with file level restore
- Proxy host backups with VCB enabled agents
As with all TNS seminars, we will not only explore how these technologies reduce costs and make your job easier, but also how they actually work.
The
“MS: The Latest & Greatest in Backup/Recovery” training seminar will be held on
Thursday, May 28 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Pastries and juice will be provided in the morning and a light lunch will be provided after the seminar, sponsored by
Symantec and
Exagrid. Engineers will be available to answer all of your technical questions.
