T3: 10GbE and Converged Enhanced Ethernet
10-Gigabit Ethernet is quickly becoming the standard for backbone network and top of rack deployments. It is primarily used to connect backbone and edge switches, and is quickly becoming the choice for high-end server connectivity and storage. 10GbE is also being enhanced with Fiber Channel technology in the new Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) standards. This MS seminar will help you understand the following points:

  • Fiber Types required for 10GbE
  • Supported 10GbE Distances
  • 10GbE over Copper
  • 10GbE usage scenarios
  • Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)
  • Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE)
  • Data Center Ethernet (DCE)
Organizations of all sizes and types are upgrading their gigabit Ethernet backbones to 10GbE. As with all new standards, there are many considerations that you must be aware of. Even if you're not planning on deploying 10GbE this year, the fiber and copper cabling that you chose today should be 10GbE-ready for tomorrow.

We will also discuss new standards being ratified related to converging high-performance Fiber Channel storage traffic onto 10Gb Ethernet. It will not be long before you see a single 10GbE port on a server carrying both data and storage traffic. This will greatly reduce the complexity and cost of maintaining separate data and storage networks. The emerging standards for Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE), also known as Data Center Ethernet (DCE), will be explored.

This seminar will help you learn the basics as well as advanced concepts related to 10 Gigabit Ethernet as well as FCoE and CEE/DCE standards. The goal of the seminar is to help you fully understand the technical requirements of 10GbE, how it is properly deployed, and how it can benefit your organization. This seminar will also bring you up to speed with the emerging FCoE and CEE standards.

The “T3: 10GbE and Converged Enhanced Ethernet” training seminar will be held on Thursday, May 14th, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Pastries and juice will be provided in the morning and a light lunch will be provided after the seminar, sponsored by Brocade Communications (formerly Foundry Networks). Engineers will be available to answer all of your technical questions.

This training seminar has a technical rating of 4 (Scaled from 1=low to 5=high).

Seating for this seminar is limited; please register early!!
