T3: Data Center Power and Cooling
Trusted Network Solutions is pleased to announce our next upcoming technical training seminar entitled
“T3: Data Center Power and Cooling”. We will explore both building out your own data center as well as the benefits of using a Co-location facility. This technical lunch ‘n learn will feature the following points:
Concepts and Background
- Proper Data Center Layout
- Comfort Cooling vs. Data Center Cooling
- Common Mistakes
- Sizing Your Cooling Needs
- Understanding Power
- kW vs. kVA
- Power Redundancy
- UPS Concepts
- Generators
Current Topics
- Build vs. Buy (build your own vs. buy space from a CoLo)
- Redundant/Scalable UPS
- The Ever Increasing Heat Problem
- Physical Security
We spend a lot of time and money in building fault tolerant servers and networks. Redundant power supplies, RAID, server load balancers, dual Internet connections, and business class switches are a few examples of how we protect our key assets. However, all this redundancy falls apart if we have poor cooling and/or lose power. The physical infrastructure is the foundation that our data and voice networks are built upon. If that physical infrastructure fails, the entire network goes down. And if you host your own web based services, your Internet connecting must also be bullet-proof.
This seminar will help you learn how to protect your network from physical threats. The goals of this seminar are to help you understand the many technical aspects of power and cooling, what power and cooling technologies are best for particular networks, how to best utilize and manage your current power/cooling resources and the many benefits of using a co-location partner. There will also be a “hands-on” portion of the seminar; we will tour a brand new, world class data center featuring the latest and greatest data center power, cooling, and physical security technologies.
The
“T3: Data Center Power and Cooling” training seminar will be held on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This particular seminar will be held at the
Center 7 Co-location Facility just off the freeway in Lindon, Utah. A light lunch will be served during this technical training event. We will also tour a brand-new 10,000 square foot data center.
This training seminar has a technical rating of 3 (Scaled from 1=low to 5=high).
Seating for this seminar is limited; please register early!!
