T3: Business Continuity 101
Most every business owner and network administrator knows that the ability to avoid or recover from a disaster is critical to the success of their company. Unfortunately, the complexity and potential cost of a BC/DR (Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery) plan can be overwhelming. Many times the concern is high but, no one really knows where to start with this huge, ever-changing task.
Terrorism, natural disasters, government regulations, and our reliance on the untamed borders of the Internet have put all organizations at great economic risk. What is Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery? Where is my organization at risk and what actions do I need to take to be fiscally responsible to my stakeholders? What IT systems in my organization need to remain available and secure in case of disaster? We will explore these and other questions at the next T3 event.
Our focus will be to discuss BC/DR planning at a high level, then focus on techniques used to meet BC/DR planning requirements for the availability and security of information assets. The discussion will be very audience interactive, please come prepared to share your ideas and experiences.
